Shake it like Polaroid picture – very brief update

Yep I’m daft. I switched from my Clydebank 10k entry to doing the full Polaroid series. 4 10k races in 4 weeks. Starting tomorrow. You get free shades you know. Or sports sunglasses to be more accurate.  I like free. Scott Dickson modelled a pair on his birthday for me, looking good.

Aim is still the Clydebank 10k for a PB and hopefully under 41 mins. Two races before to get rid of my rustiness. I’ve been training consistently and well for me so why not give it a go? Had a great run last Thursday, one of those ones where you hang on to the shirt tails of better runners but manage to hold on most of the way. Gave me a real boost. Chatelherault with Brian, Nick and Craig. Every session I have felt good recently, even on the track, apart from the hill session last night where I took the session at maybe 80 – 85% but felt pain from both sides of the groin on the last couple and have suffered today.

Just a bit of tenderness so I would hope all fine tomorrow for first run at Helensburgh.

What am I looking for out of the series? The wind to stay down. A cracking bag of chips after each race (a MAC tradition). And basically to complete the series. I would love to run under 41 minutes and break my modern day PB. If the niggles stay at bay and the conditions are good I have been training well enough to do this by Clydebank. Last night has taught me not to take anything for granted though. I could just as easily end up crocked again.  I’m looking forward to it if I can get away from work on time. So good luck to all of you doing it. Say a hello to number 343. I’ll let you know how it goes, and if I had a cheeky pickle with my chips. 4 10k races to the end of the series, and 4 10k races until my family holiday.
